Terms of Service

Last updated — February 14, 2026

This is a personal blog run by Mebarki Wail. The site is hosted at devwail.github.io. There are no accounts, no payments, no tracking cookies. You read articles and browse projects. That’s basically it.

These terms exist to set expectations about content usage, liability, and the open-source code referenced throughout the site.

Content ownership

All written content on this site — blog posts, project descriptions, diagrams, and any original code snippets embedded in articles — is my work unless explicitly stated otherwise. You’re welcome to quote or reference it with attribution. Don’t republish entire articles as your own.

Code blocks included in blog posts are provided for educational purposes. Unless a specific license is mentioned, treat embedded code snippets as MIT-licensed. The open-source projects linked from this site (DMS, PTSS, etc.) each have their own LICENSE file in their respective repositories — those licenses govern the project code, not these terms.

Accuracy

I write about systems programming, backend engineering, and low-level topics. I do my best to be accurate, but I’m a human writing about complex systems. If something is wrong, it’s a mistake, not malice. Nothing on this site is professional advice. If you copy a code pattern from a blog post into production and it breaks, that’s on you.

Articles link to external resources — GitHub repositories, documentation, RFCs, other people’s blog posts. I don’t control those sites. Links can break, content can change, repositories can be deleted. A link is not an endorsement of everything on the destination site.

Open-source projects

Projects showcased on this site are open-source and hosted on GitHub. Each project has its own license. Using, forking, or modifying that code is governed by the license in the repository, not by these terms. If a project has no LICENSE file, assume you should ask before using it commercially.

No warranties

This site is provided as-is. I make no guarantees about uptime, accuracy, completeness, or fitness for any particular purpose. The site could go down, articles could contain errors, and code examples might not compile on your specific setup. I’m not liable for any damages arising from your use of this site or its content.

Privacy

This site does not collect personal data. There are no analytics scripts, no tracking pixels, no cookies. If you contact me through the channels listed on the About page, whatever you send is between you and the platform you used to send it.

If a newsletter is added in the future, subscribing will be opt-in and your email will only be used to send you posts. No selling, no sharing, no spam.

Changes

I may update these terms. When I do, the date at the top changes. There’s no email notification — if you care, check back occasionally. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated terms.
